Your network connection is increasingly critical to your business, whether it’s processing credit cards, responding to client emails on a deadline, or tracking just-in-time inventory. In reality, it doesn’t matter how reliable the service, a single network link can and will fail.
Fortunately, with proper engineering, it is possible to build a complete failover solution that is automatic and transparent. We install a failover router which constantly monitors the primary circuit; as soon as it detects a failure on the primary; it automatically connects the backup circuit and starts routing traffic over that path instead. Radiant offers broadband, cellular and dialup failover options, enabling you to choose the optimum balance of protection and performance versus downtime in your particular business.
| Failover Technology | Performance During Failover | Protection Level |
Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Broadband | High | High | $$$ |
| Cellular | Medium | Medium | $$ |
| Dialup | Low | Low | $ |
Why Radiant’s Failover Service is Unique
Radiant doesn’t just route traffic on the backup circuit to the Internet – we create a private link back to your Radiant MPLS gateway. Although your location is operating on failover, all your security and routing policies remain completely intact and operate seamlessly. Particularly with a broadband failover, you probably wouldn’t even know that your primary had failed.
This is why Radiant constantly monitors all MPLS circuits with failover – our monitoring system immediately detects a failure of primary circuit and automatically creates a trouble ticket, so our techs can start troubleshooting the problem. The monitoring also alerts us to a failure of the backup circuit (for broadband and cellular only). And it is sufficiently smart to know if both primary and backup are down (e.g. in a power outage), it creates a maximum severity trouble ticket that automatically goes to the top of the queue.
